054 Gastric Sleeve Diet Stage 3

Today marks four weeks out from Jimmy's gastric sleeve weight loss surgery! We are so excited because he is doing really, really well AND he gets to start his Stage 3 Diet on Sunday! He won't have his month appointment for a couple more weeks (due to the holidays) but when he does we will let you know what Dr. Hornbostel and everyone else had to say.
So I know that everyone really seems to love and be fascinated by what Jimmy is allowed to eat and what he is not. I am including his whole Stage 3 diet below. Be aware that some of the foods Jimmy was allowed to eat before are being phased out for healthier options now that he is allowed a wider variety of foods. Don't miss that because I guarantee Jimmy won't!
I realize this diet may be different than the one prescribed by your surgeon. All bariatric surgical programs are different. Talk to your surgeon before changing your diet or exercise program. This diet was prescribed to Jimmy by his surgeon (Dr. H) and nutritionist (Krystal).

Jimmy's Post-Op Stage 3 Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diet

  1. I would love to see stage 4 or beyond. I started my journey on 11/1/12 with the liquid diet and had my sleeve done on 11/7/12. I am down 55 pounds. Jimmy and I are in the same stage, but I don't have a list nearly this nice.

    1. After gastric sleeve you want to eat a diet which is high in protein and low in carbs and fat. You should also try to eat fresh food like fruits and vegetables as your doctor allows.

  3. I had my procedure done on 11/20/2013. The first week was horrible, I had no energy which was my fault. I lost 13lbs in 10 days. I couldn't stand to smell no food. I'm OK now. I'm down 25lbs and its not been a month. I'm very happy. I wish everybody gets through this. Good Luck to everyone

  8. I had my surgery on April 16, 2014. I'm 7 weeks post-op and have lost 43 pounds. I was very sick in the beginning and nothing tasted good to me except popsicles. I'm still trying to get recipe ideas so that I can expand my new palate. Foods I enjoyed before now taste disgusting to me. If anyone can suggest a good protein mix/drink it will be awesome (I've tried many and hated them all)

  9. Try www.unjury.com. It can be mixed with either milk, water, or crystal lite. I love the Chocolate Splender and Watermellon Sorbet. Each scoop contains 22 grams of protien. I drink 3 a day and have seen great weight loss after my surgery.
